Grace Fellowship Church

Welcome to our online community!

Many people don't know what it is Jesus has really done for them. As a result, there's not much to celebrate.

But what if we were to tell you that God's plan for your life is far better than you could imagine?

Jesus said, "I came that you may have life and that you may have it more abundantly." John 10:10

If this sounds too good to be true, we want to invite you to re/discover God, the Bible, the world, and yourself through new eyes.

A Decentralized Network of Micro-Churches

We don't believe church is a place you attend, but a family you belong to. God's family!

Based in Lafayette Indiana, we consider ourselves a decentralized network of micro-churches that meet in homes and online with an emphasis on God's grace and empowerment in a believer's life.

Michael and Joy Carwile, originally from Kentucky, moved to Lafayette Indiana with their three children when God called them to start a new work. With a passion for helping people from all walks of life understand God and the scriptures like never before, they have made it their mission to empower others with the freedom, beauty, and truth of the Gospel.

*Because of meeting in a house we ask that serious inquiries about location email us at [email protected] or chat with us here 💬.

  • What denomination is Grace Fellowship? It is a non-denominational church with an emphasis on God's grace and empowerment in our lives!
  • Where are you located? We do not have a central location. We meet in houses and digitally online (i.e. Zoom).
  • What should I wear? Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
  • Is there anything for kids? Yes! Even though we meet in houses, we do have a kid's church available for elementary kids, and childcare for toddlers.

Our Vision is to see generation after generation waking up to their inclusion in the perfect and finished work of Christ.

Our Mission is to bring into focus ALL that has been accomplished for ALL people by Jesus Christ.

The Bible

The scriptures are inspired (God-breathed) and given to us by God, and they are accurate and authoritative in all matters to which they speak. Their primary purpose is to point people to Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 3:16    John 5:39

God

There is one true God who is three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the source of all life and the eternal Creator and Ruler of the universe. And above all, God is Love.

Genesis 1:1    Psalm 90:2    Matthew 28:19    1 John 4:8

Fall of Man

Humankind was created in God's image to live and to enjoy a relationship with Him eternally. They were and always will be the product and object of God's love, therefore created only for good. God's design for humanity was made expressly for an abundant life. The definition of sin is missing the mark of that design for life. Because of sin, humankind lost its way. The consequence of sin is death. Since all have sinned and have fallen short of God's glory, all humanity has a need of rescue from death.

Genesis 1:27    Genesis 1:31    Romans 5:12    Romans 3:23

Romans 6:23

Redemption

God, who is love, could not be satisfied with those He loves becoming lost forever. So God sent His only son Jesus to bear the burden of sin on a cross. Born of a virgin, He was fully God and fully man. And though entirely innocent and without sin, He willingly laid down His life for the guilty. He died for us and as us that those who believe in Him would not perish but instead have eternal life. And after three days of being entombed, He resurrected from the grave, defeating death once and for all! God declares Jesus' victory over sin and death our own when we believe in Him. He is our Savior and Redeemer. We believe that those who put their trust and hope in Jesus will live forever as He does.

2 Peter 3:9    John 3:16    Matthew 1:18-25    Colossians 2:9

Hebrews 4:15    Romans 5:6    Luke 24:1-53

John 11:25-26    1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Grace and Empowerment

Salvation is a gift from God and not earned. God's laws are too lofty and perfect for any human to attain righteousness on his or her own merit, which is why Jesus did the impossible and kept the laws of God on our behalf. At the cross, Jesus became our sin that we might become His righteousness before God. It is a gift from God to be freely received as it was freely given.

Ephesians 2:8    Romans 8:3-4    2 Corinthians 5:21

After rising from the dead, Jesus ascended to Heaven to be with the Father. And since it is not God's will that His followers should be left alone, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to come and live in those who believe in Him. The Spirit's job is to lead and guide the believer in life. In addition, the Spirit also baptizes the believer in power to equip them to do His work in the Earth. We believe God still performs "signs and wonders" today to demonstrate His love for us.

Acts 1:6-1    John 14:16-17    John 16:12-14    Acts 1:5    Acts 1:8

Acts 2:43    John 14:12

The Church

The Church is the body of Jesus Christ. It is the family of God who is the representatives and agents of change for the Kingdom of God in the Earth. The mission of the Church is and always will be to make disciples of Jesus in all nations.

1 Corinthians 12:27    John 1:11-13    Romans 8:14-16

2 Corinthians 5:20    Matthew 28:19-20

Sacraments

A sacrament is a special event that both God and believers participate in, where God dispenses divine grace.

Water baptism is a sacrament that symbolizes one's death to the old life of sin and birth to the new life of Christ.

Acts 2:38    Romans 6:3-4

Communion is a sacrament that symbolizes Jesus' sacrifice for us. The broken bread represents the body of Jesus that was broken for us, and the cup represents the blood of Jesus that was shed for the cleansing of sin.

Matthew 26:26-28    1 Corinthians 11:24-25

Marriage is a sacramental covenant made by God between a man and a woman. God makes the two one, just as He has made believers of Him one with Him by His Spirit.

Genesis 2:23-25    Matthew 19:5-6

Non-Essentials

We believe in embracing liberty and diversity on all other beliefs. For centuries the Church has been divided over non-essential beliefs. As much as possible, we choose to "preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

Ephesians 4:1-6    2 Timothy 2:14
